Here is a short personal project I made to test out bringing together as many different disciplines that I currently practice for motion and film.
Firstly I created a 3D background in Blender to use as reference for a background painting that I would do in Photoshop. I then created the animatic and the final 2D character in Adobe Animate. I then brought all the art assets into After Effects where I built a 3D stage so that I could have a perspective correct camera for when the monster shoots the camera to the floor. Finally I did some VFX paint overs in Photoshop for the laser firing and did some additional compositional work in After Effects.
I always want to explore different production methods as it helps me figure out how long things will take and will make me more confident in suggesting creative solutions for client projects.
